YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Flying High Inc. will offer a variety of high-quality flowers, vegetables and greenery during its annual plant sale.

The sale will kick off at the Access Healthy Foods Mahoning Valley Greenhouse at the Campus of Care in Mineral Ridge from April 20-May 9, followed by a second phase at Grow Urban Farm in Youngstown from May 11-May 30. Hours for both locations are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

Shoppers can choose from a wide selection of plants, including:

  • A six-pack of flowers or vegetables for $5.
  • Mix-and-match flats for $20.
  • 6-inch potted flowers and coleus for $8.
  • Hanging baskets and ferns for $20.
  • 6- to 8-inch tomato plants for $12.

All plants are grown through Flying High’s Access Healthy Foods Mahoning Valley and workforce development efforts, which provide hands-on training and employment opportunities for individuals in the community. Proceeds from the sale support these programs, helping individuals build skills, gain employment and improve their quality of life.

“This annual event is a great way for the community to access affordable, locally grown plants while supporting workforce development efforts right here in the Mahoning Valley,” said Jeff Magada, founder and executive director at Flying High.
