YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Vault, a store that sells high-quality vintage furniture and decor, has opened in the lower level of the Ohio One building, downtown.
A grand opening celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
The store is the latest venture of Robert Joshua, who owned and operated The Joshua Tree in Boardman for four decades before selling it a couple years ago.
Joshua also owned The Red Door Church Emporium in North Jackson before selling it this year.
Both of those stores, like The Vault, offer handpicked furniture and decor.
“I cater to people who like period furnishings and want offices with character and charm,” Joshua said.
Delivery is available at a nominal fee for downtown customers.
Joshua said his original plan was to retire after selling his businesses, but he found that he prefers to stay busy doing what he loves.
He is always on the hunt for furnishings and other items, scouring auctions and sales and buying collections from private owners.
“After all these years, I have developed multiple contacts where I pick up this stuff,” Joshua said.
He extracts the best pieces and offers them for sale.
The Vault is only open one day a week – Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Ohio One building is at 25 E. Boardman St. The entrance is on South Champion Street.
The store also offers a selection of curated giftware and holiday items for home and office.
“It’s a nice, eclectic collection at super reasonable prices,” Joshua said.
Private consultations and design services are also available; for an appointment, call 330 809 7904.
