CAMPBELL, Ohio – The Delta Dental Foundation has awarded $200,000 to Campbell City Schools to support the Mahoning Valley Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, which will operate within the Campbell Health and Community Development Center that is under construction.
The Delta Dental Foundation funding will support eight fully equipped dental operatories within the MVWRC, a news release states. The clinic will operate in partnership with Youngstown State University, Northeast Ohio Medical University and Mercy Health, serving as both a dental care site and a clinical training location.
Secondary students will complete prerequisite college coursework, and adult learners and postsecondary students will participate in hands-on clinical training, creating a pathway from education to employment in dental and health care fields.
“We are grateful for the support of the Delta Dental Foundation and the many partners who believe in this work,” said Matthew Bowen, superintendent of Campbell City Schools. “Together, we are caring for today’s students and families while preparing a strong health care workforce for the future of the Mahoning Valley.”
The MVWRC will provide dental services to students, families and individuals with developmental disabilities from Campbell and surrounding communities, with support from partners including Purple Cat and Potential Development.
“When schools, health care providers and communities work together, something special happens. We’re grateful to be partnering with Campbell City Schools on this important venture,” YSU President Bill Johnson said.
The center is scheduled to begin program operations in August 2026.
