COLUMBIANA, Ohio – The Columbiana Community Foundation has awarded $25,000 to Columbiana Project Playground to help build an all-inclusive, modern playground at Firestone Park for local children and families.

“The Community Foundation has supported us from the very beginning, and as we enter the exciting stage of bringing this project to life, their continued support means more than words can express,” said Michaela Good, president of Columbiana Project Playground. “With the equipment arriving on Jan. 2 in a parade through town, this dream is now becoming a reality.”

The new playground will offer an inclusive experience where everyone can play, learn and grow, no matter their ability. The playground will replace Funland, which was built by volunteers and community members in 1995.

“The Community Foundation was one of our first supporters, and their continued support shows their dedication not only to this project but to the community as a whole,” said Fritz Nelson, treasurer of Columbiana Project Playground.
