YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Gateways to Better Living completed a rebranding effort in 2024 that modernized its image and reaffirmed its core values.

As part of the rebranding, Gateways refreshed its logo, updated its mission statement, redesigned its marketing materials and revamped its website, says Kristie Murphy, community engagement director.

The new identity was unveiled in November.

The agency, which supports adults with developmental disabilities, enjoyed a year of growth and innovation in which it bolstered its community partnerships and advocacy efforts.

Through enhanced programs and expanded connections, it continued to ensure that its clients have the resources and support to live empowered lives, Murphy says.

Its commitment to building a stronger community was reinforced by its sponsorship of several local organizations that showcase its dedication to diversity and inclusion, she adds.

To attract and retain dedicated and compassionate employees, Gateways increased the wages it pays.

Several events presented last year united the community in support of the agency’s mission:

  • Stomp Out the Stereotype contest (March), which promoted inclusion through community-funded shoe designs.
  • Golf outing (June).
  • Bingo and Bling (September).
  • Not So Haunted House (October).

Plans for this year include enhancing staff training, expanding community outreach and advocacy, and the annual golf outing June 23 at Youngstown Country Club.

Gateways to Better Living was founded in 1972 and has over 300 employees.
