YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Valley-based funk band Geo C and Tha Storm has released a new album, “Geo’s Music Vol. 1,” on the band’s YouTube channel and Earthtone Records.
George Case, singer, songwriter and keyboardist, described the album as “uplifting.”
He had planned to announce its release at the band’s July 18 show at Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre. However, the event – which was part of the city’s YO Nights series – was postponed because of poor air quality caused by the smoke from wildfires. A new date will be announced soon.
The 11 songs were written, arranged and performed by the band, which also includes K’evon Gordon (guitar and bass), Mark Hanley (guitar), James Price (bass and piano), Ace Holmes (drums), Khaldoun Kawa (percussion), Mitch Lawrence and Alex Gustavo Miller (wind instruments) and Jerry London III and The GRLZ (vocals).
The album was engineered by Les Nolan.
Geo C and Tha Storm’s next local show will be Friday, July 24, at the Grand Resort in Howland. The band also has an Aug. 8 gig at the Old Firehouse Winery in Geneva on the Lake.
