LORDSTOWN, Ohio – GM Cares and Ultium Cells, in partnership with Spitzer Chevrolet in Lordstown, has launched the GM Van Fundraiser Campaign to raise $50,000 to purchase a 2025 Chevy Express passenger van for Inspiring Minds.

“Transportation is often one of the biggest barriers for nonprofits like ours,” said Deryck Toles, founder and CEO of Inspiring Minds. “This campaign expands our ability to serve our community, helping local youth get to after‑school programs, tutoring, field trips, college tours and so much more.”

GM Cares is General Motors’ employee-driven giving and volunteerism program. Through the program, current employees identify local nonprofits in need, lead fundraising and volunteer efforts and then see their impact doubled through GM’s corporate match. Employees host drives, pledge gifts or volunteer time, with GM Cares providing structure, resources and a 1:1 match to maximize the total dollars and community impact.

“We believe in creating opportunity and investing in our collective future,” said Sean O’Sullivan, senior manager of employee gift giving at GM. “Our employees are deeply committed to their communities, and our matching gift amplifies that spirit.”

GM Cares will provide a match for all donations to the GM Van Fundraiser Campaign for Inspiring Minds up to $25,000.

“The work being done at our [Lordstown] facility isn’t just about powering vehicles – it’s about powering futures,” said Dominick Brown, Ultium Cells plant planner. “Supporting Inspiring Minds in this way feels like a natural extension of our commitment to community and innovation.”

Donations can be made HERE through Oct. 15.
