AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Goat Barber Academy, 1741 S. Raccoon Road, Suite 3, will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Founded by Ridge Awadallah and Alex Sierra-Tirado, Goat Barber Academy is a state-licensed barber school, offering aspiring barbers a modern, hands-on learning environment designed to prepare students for successful careers in the industry, a news release states.
The ribbon cutting will mark the completion of the academy’s custom-built facility, the approval of its license from the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board and the beginning of its first class of students.
“We built Goat to give the Valley the barber school it deserves, a place where someone can walk in with a passion for the craft and walk out with a career,” said Awadallah, co-owner and academy director.
The academy features a professionally designed training space complete with custom finishes, premium barber stations, high-end barber chairs and private service rooms. Students will receive instruction in haircutting, fades and beard and skin services, as well as business fundamentals such as shop ownership, financial literacy and credit management.
“Our job is to send students out ready for anything, sharp behind the chair and smart about the business,” co-owner Sierra-Tirado said. “If they came through Goat, a shop knows exactly what they’re getting.”
Goat Barber Academy also plans to offer affordable grooming services to the public through its student clinic under the supervision of licensed instructors. Membership options will include unlimited haircuts beginning at $30 per month, as well as comprehensive grooming packages featuring beard services, shampoo and monthly facials.
