YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University has received a $120,000 EmpowerVetEd Grant to support military-connected students who want to become teachers.
Through 2025 and 2026, veterans, active duty military personnel and military spouses seeking a degree in education can apply to receive financial incentives, opportunities and assistance. YSU staff will provide support to help students in the program reach their goals.
The grant allows military personnel and their spouses to bring their real-world experience, leadership skills and discipline into the classroom, thereby impacting the next generation.
YSU is designated a Military-Friendly and Ohio Collegiate Purple Star Institution.
