Community Relations Coordinator, Boardman Township Park
Boardman Park is genuinely a great place to work because the workplace culture is rooted in community, teamwork and purpose.
As a small staff, we work collaboratively to create events, programs and spaces that bring families together, support local organizations and preserve both the historical and natural beauty of our park. A sense of impact is felt every day at the park as we see how our efforts complement our community slogan that Boardman’s “A Nice Place to Call Home.”
One of the reasons I believe Boardman Park is a great place to work is because of the flexibility and trust leadership extends to employees. We’re genuinely encouraged to balance our work and homelife. We’re humans. Whether it’s adjusting hours for family needs or supporting professional development, the environment within the park is a place where employees feel respected and valued.
Boardman Park leadership is also incredibly supportive of continued learning and professional growth. We’re encouraged to attend workshops, gain new skills, and continuously adapt in our roles. That commitment to development keeps our team engaged, confident and excited to evolve with the needs of the community.
Within our workplace environment, there’s always a strong sense of appreciation. No achievement is taken for granted. With workloads that support the creation of large community events – in addition to our daily tasks that keep the park running smoothly – staff members genuinely support each other and celebrate wins together. It’s common to hear a “thank you,” see coworkers support each other or receive words of encouragement from both leadership and the team.
From the office staff to the grounds crew and custodians, we’re a workplace with purpose with a team that feels like family.
