Pecchia Communications offers flexibility, varied experiences and supportive leadership, employees say.
“While pursuing my master’s degree in communications in 2017, I was searching for an internship that offered hands-on experience in marketing and public relations,” writes Kelli Hulea, project director in her nomination of the company.
She didn’t want to be a coffee runner or the “social media girl.” She wanted meaningful work across content creation, writing, social media management, public relations and website development.
“I had no idea I’d found exactly that when I came across Pecchia Communications,” Hulea adds.
Tom Delamater, senior consultant, says the company was ahead of its time and an early adopter of remote work.
“Team members work entirely from home and enjoy a company culture built on professionalism, trust and respect,” he explains.
Hulea says the “small but mighty” Canfield-based agency gave her the opportunity she’d hoped for, and she’s still learning something new every day.
“As project director, I’ve worked with clients ranging from law firms and doctor offices to engineers, nonprofits, county offices and foundations,” Hulea writes in her nomination of the company. “The variety of industries and challenges has shaped my career in ways I couldn’t have anticipated, often working one-on-one with product or field experts.”
Both Pecchia Communications nominators also list company owner Dan Pecchia as key to what makes it a great place to work.
“Dan Pecchia’s reputation in the Mahoning Valley is impeccable, and the respect he’s earned in the community filters down to everyone involved with the company,” Delamater writes.
Hulea also values Pecchia’s guidance.
“His leadership offers autonomy and flexibility while providing clarity, support and unmatched attention to detail,” she writes.
She also says Pecchia’s care for the people he works with also stands out. “He pays attention to life’s big and small moments, often marked by a handwritten note,” Hulea adds.
Delamater also lists the firm’s community involvement including financial support of charitable organizations, sponsorships and pro bono work.
“Pecchia Communications has been a beacon in the community for 20 years, built on honesty, integrity and the highest standards of public relations, communications and marketing expertise,” he writes.
