FARRELL, Pa. – What Willie Green began 17 years ago with a zero-turn mower and a goal to support his father following an Alzheimer’s diagnosis has grown into Greenie Green’s Lawncare & Landscaping Co.

Green was not looking to start a business, just help his parents afford medicine when he purchased the mower, truck and trailer in 2008. His company grew into a successful side business by 2010, then transitioned into a full-time venture in 2015.

With 12 pieces of equipment and the efforts of Green’s son, Kobe; nephew, Tymir Green; and seasonal employees, Greenie Green’s offers more than traditional mowing and plowing. The company maintains retaining ponds, sweeps parking lots, performs coreless aeration and installs yards. Yard treatments and outdoor pest management are next, according to Green.

“We’ve covered a lot of ground with the work we’ve done,” says Green. “It’s not an exact science because every yard, driveway and property are different. But with our experience, we get the job done.”
