BOARDMAN, Ohio – Grocery Outlet, 317 Boardman-Poland Road, is kicking off its third annual Independence from Hunger food drive in support of the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley.

The campaign will run from June 24 through July 31 and aims to provide food resources for individuals and families experiencing hunger in the community.

During the campaign, customers can donate $5 at checkout. In appreciation, they’ll receive a $5 coupon toward their next purchase of $25 or more. At the end of the campaign, Grocery Outlet will work directly with the rescue mission to identify the most urgently needed food items and will use 100% of the funds raised to purchase those items.

Last year, more than $5,000 was raised through the support of Grocery Outlet customers. And owners Eric and Sarah Senges are aiming even higher this year.

“At Grocery Outlet Boardman, we are proud to be part of such an amazing community. This year our goal is to raise $10,000 for our partner, the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, and we need your help,” the owners said in a statement. “We are also reaching out to our local businesses to help us achieve our goal. Together, we can make a real difference and help support the amazing work being done by the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. Let’s show what the community can accomplish.”
