YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Happy Campers Learning Center will celebrate the grand opening of its newest childcare expansion, Happy Campers Too!!, with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Aug. 26.
Located inside the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp.’s Glenwood Plaza at 2915 Glenwood Ave., the new learning center will provide families with greater access to childcare in a newly renovated, secure learning environment.
Happy Campers’ mission is “working with families to build better communities,” a news release states. Tracy Jordan, Happy Campers owner and director, believes the new location will allow the learning center to continue to realize that mission by supporting children, families and the community.
Happy Campers is a full-service, state-licensed learning center that has a 5-Star Gold Rating with the Department of Children and Youth. Happy Campers also operates a pre-K program licensed by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
The new Happy Campers Too!! facility has been completely remodeled to provide a safer, more effective and welcoming learning environment, the release states. Improvements include new bathroom facilities and a high-tech security system.
Happy Campers Too!! will serve children from 6 weeks through age 10 and will offer meals, snacks and transportation. The expansion will initially create eight new jobs in the city, with additional positions expected as the center reaches full enrollment.
Funding for the expansion came from several sources, including small-business financing primarily through Valley Partners and Huntington Bank, along with investments from private investors.
