YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – HBK CPAs & Consultants has donated $100,000 to the Kilcawley: Centered on the Future Campaign at Youngstown State University.

In recognition of the gift, the guest services office will become the HBK CPAs & Consultants Y-Card Office. The Y-Card is YSU’s student ID that is used for verification and carries Pete’s Points and meal plan currency.

“We are grateful to HBK CPAs & Consultants for their prolonged support of YSU and its students for the last 30 years,” YSU President Bill Johnson said. “We appreciate their financial contribution so much. In addition, through their commitment, the new HBK CPAs & Consultants Y-Card Office will help enhance the student experience with a dedicated space for assistance with the student ID.”

David J. Blasko, principal-in-charge of the Midwest region for HBK, said the firm believes in giving back to the communities that have supported it.

“This donation to the Kilcawley Center renovation continues our long tradition of supporting YSU and reinforces our commitment to helping shape the future of the Youngstown area,” he said.

James Dascenzo, HBK principal and a YSU Foundation board member, also expressed his support.

“Through my involvement with the YSU Foundation, the Williamson College of Business Administration and various other campus organizations, I’ve gained deep appreciation for what the university means to our region,” he said. “Kilcawley Center has always been where the university comes together. On behalf of HBK, I’m thrilled that we can support the renovation of a place that has meant so much to me throughout my journey with YSU and will shape the experience of countless future Penguins.”
