HD Growth Partners expanded its footprint and services while continuing to pioneer operational excellence in the accounting profession in 2025, its CEO says.
While 75% of CPAs approach retirement age with limited incoming talent to replacing them, CEO Tim Petrey says HD Growth Partners is overcoming that challenge by investing in technology and strategic partnerships.
The Liberty Township firm’s 2024 partnership with Ascend, a strategic growth platform backed by Alpine Investors, enhanced HD Growth Partners cybersecurity, strengthened human resources and recruiting and allowed investment in artificial intelligence tools to allow professionals to better focus on high-value strategic advisory work.
A strategic acquisition in December of OnPointe Advisors, an award-winning Cleveland firm, expanded the team to nearly 100 professionals and strengthened client access to dedicated accounting teams and virtual accounting. With locations in Youngstown, Geauga, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Louisville, Ky., HD Growth Partners is responsive to regional needs and investing in the communities it serves.
In the spring of 2026, HD Growth Partners will unveil the newly renovated Cleveland office in the Van Aken District.

Donald L. Trummer was named a partner and oversees the tax advisory department.
