HIRAM, Ohio – Hiram College President Rob Bohrer will resign at the end of the academic year to become chancellor at Pennsylvania State University–Schuylkill.

The new role will allow Bohrer to move home and be closer to his family, a news release states.

“On behalf of the board of trustees, I want to thank President Bohrer for his leadership and service to Hiram College over the past several years,” said Robert Turner, trustees chairman. “He has led with integrity, transparency and deep commitment to our students. We congratulate him on this next chapter, which brings him closer to family, and we are grateful for the progress achieved during his tenure. As a board, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition and to sustaining the momentum of our strategic priorities.”

Trustees have begun planning transitional leadership and will determine the next steps.

“At a time when higher education is evolving rapidly, Hiram is committed to agility, innovation and mission-driven leadership,” Turner said. “We are confident in our community and in the college’s ability to move forward with clarity and purpose.”
