HIRAM, Ohio – Hiram College has been named one of Money magazine’s Best Colleges in America for 2025, a national distinction awarded to institutions that excel in delivering strong academic experiences with return on investment.
Hiram’s inclusion on this year’s list reflects its commitment to accessible, quality education and its success in supporting students from enrollment through graduation and beyond, a news release states.
To compile its list, Money evaluated more than 2,400 four-year institutions across the country, narrowing it down to just 732 that met the magazine’s benchmarks. The rankings are based on 25 data points that fall into three key categories: quality, affordability and outcomes.
The methodology considers factors such as graduation rates, student-to-faculty ratios, net cost of attendance, typical student debt and alumni earnings after graduation. Colleges must also demonstrate financial stability and long-term value to be considered.
Hiram’s academic model emphasizes real-world learning and interdisciplinary thinking, preparing graduates for success across a range of careers and graduate programs.
“Being recognized by Money as one of the best colleges in the country reaffirms what we strive to achieve every day: an affordable, transformative education that opens doors for students from all backgrounds,” said Robert E. Bohrer II, Hiram president. “This honor reflects the work of our faculty and staff, who are deeply committed to our students’ success.”
Affordability and access remain central cornerstones of Hiram’s 2025–2029 Strategic Plan, which prioritizes increasing financial support for students through external grants and donor-funded scholarships. The plan acknowledges the need to expand aid to keep college within reach for more students and families.
One of the distinguishing features of Hiram’s affordability model is the Hiram Tuition Guarantee, which locks in tuition rates for four years, offering families financial predictability and peace of mind.
