YOUNGSTOWN – Simply Slavic, the festival that celebrates the area’s Slavic community, is embracing the Christmas holiday season with Home for the SLAVidays.
The event will take place from 6-11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at Penguin City Brewing Co., downtown.
Admission is $15 (free for children 12 and under).
The evening will feature Slavic holiday traditions, family-friendly entertainment and seasonal shopping.
Highlights will include:
- Music by the Chardon Polka Band.
- A visit from the Cleveland Krampus and photos with St. Nicholas.
- Announcement of the 2026 Simply Slavic festival honorary chairperson.
- Kolachi contest for local bakers.
- Opłatek sharing (an exchange of the traditional wafer) for friends and family.
- The Slavic Christmas Forest.
- Last Chance Christmas Market with local vendors, including Kasia’s Polish Pottery.
- Food and drink for sale from Babcia’s Lunchbox, Steel City Chimneys and The Pierogi Lady, plus Krupnik martinis.
- Raffle: The prize is a Christmas Eve dinner box from Krakus Polish Deli & Bakery.
