AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course has begun work on a multimillion-dollar expansion of its existing patio area.
The new 3,000-square-foot space will have a roof and can be enclosed and heated during cold weather.
It will be equipped with 100 video gaming terminals – increasing the racino’s total to 1,150.
The patio can be entered through an entrance on the east side of the main gaming room, to the right of the bar.
The project is slated for completion later in 2026, according to a press release from the racino.
“We’re proud to continue to invest in our property and provide a fresh, new area that adds to both our capacity and overall guest experience,” said Erich Zimny, vice president and general manager of Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course.
Guy Coviello, president and CEO of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, said the racino’s growth improves the region’s economic health.
“Premium entertainment and leisure are an important part of economic development,” Coviello said. “We’re grateful that Penn Entertainment believes in us enough to make another substantial investment in the Mahoning Valley.”
The expansion is the second improvement to the Austintown location this year.
In March, it opened Zombie Dogz & Piez in its food court.
Operated by Penn Entertainment, Hollywood Gaming Mahoning Valley is located off state Route 46 just south of Interstate 80 and is open 24 hours daily.
The 25,000-square-foot gaming facility has a full-service sports book, a restaurant and live horse racing over a 1-mile thoroughbred racetrack.
