WARREN, Ohio – The number of houses sold in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in January was down about 2% from a year earlier.

Cumulatively, 270 houses were sold in the three counties in January, compared with 276 in the same month a year earlier, MLS Now, a multiple listing service collecting sales data from the northeastern Ohio region, reported.

That includes 119 houses sold in Mahoning County last month, compared with 137 in January 2025, a 13.1% decrease. In Trumbull County, 105 houses were sold last month, up 5% from 100 a year earlier. In Columbiana County, 46 units were sold in January, up 18% from 39 in January 2025.

New listings in January increased 12.3% in Mahoning County. They decreased 9% in Trumbull County and 11.1% in Columbiana County.

The total volume of houses sold in January compared with the same period a year earlier was up in Trumbull and Columbiana counties but down in Mahoning County.

In Mahoning County, January sales totaled $23.7 million, down 10.7% from $26.5 million a year earlier. In Trumbull County, total sales were up 9.3%, from $17.4 million in January 2025 to $19 million last month. In Columbiana County, dollar volume totaled $9.4 million in January, up 48.7% from $6.3 million a year earlier.

Average sales prices in January were up in all three counties.

The average sale in Mahoning County in January was $199,357, up 2.8% from $193,871 a year earlier. The average sales price in Trumbull County last month was $181,131, a 4.1% increase from January 2025’s $174,054. Columbiana County’s average sales price last month was $206,137, up 26.1% from $163,539 in January 2025.
