YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The number of houses sold in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties in November was up about 4% from a year earlier.

Cumulatively, 422 houses were sold in the three counties in November, compared with 406 in the same month a year ago, MLS Now, a multiple listing service collecting sales data from the northeastern Ohio region, reported Thursday.

That includes 204 houses sold in Mahoning County last month, compared with 187 in November 2023, a 9.1% increase. In Trumbull County, 162 houses were sold last month, up 6.6% from 152 a year earlier. In Columbiana County, 56 units were sold in November, compared with 67 in November 2023, a 16.4% decrease.

New listings in November decreased 11.9% from a year earlier in Mahoning County and 27.6% in Columbiana County, but were up 4.7% in Trumbull County.

The total volume of houses sold in November compared with the same period last year was up in Mahoning and Trumbull counties but down in Columbiana County.

In Mahoning County, November sales totaled $45.3 million, up 33.8% from $33.9 million a year earlier. In Trumbull County, total sales were up 38.5%, from $23.5 million last November to $32.6 million last month. In Columbiana County, dollar volume totaled $11 million in November, down 12.8% from $12.6 million a year earlier.

Average sales prices in November were up in all three counties.

The average sale in Mahoning County in November was $222,524, up  22.6% from $181,451 a year ago. The average sales price in Trumbull County last month was $201,681, a 29.9% increase from November 2023’s $155,252. Columbiana County’s average sales price last month was $197,773, up 4.4% from $189,465 in November 2023.

Throughout Ohio, home sales in November reached 10,270, a 2.8% increase from the 9,995 sales recorded in November 2023. The average sales price across the state in November reached $294,301, an 8.3% increase from the $271,856 mark posted in November 2023.
