YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – After more than two decades in operation, Kiraly Tool and Die is continuing to adapt to a changing manufacturing landscape.
Kyle Kiraly discusses how 2025 served as a “learning year” for the custom CNC machine shop, prompting the company to reevaluate workforce development, equipment investments and long-term strategy.
Kiraly Tool and Die specializes in low-quantity custom parts, in-house design, stamping dies and production fixtures for manufacturers, particularly in the aluminum extrusion industry. The company’s flexibility and wide-ranging capabilities have made it a go-to partner for specialized projects.
Kiraly says one of the biggest challenges has been the pipeline of skilled machinists, leading the company to explore in-house training and stronger partnerships with local trade and career-tech schools. The year also pushed leadership to closely examine expenses and operational priorities.
At the same time, the company made a major investment – installing about $1 million in new equipment that came online in early 2025. While that brought new financial pressures, it also positioned the business for growth.
Looking ahead, Kiraly notes a rising number of inquiries for new tooling, a sign he views as positive for both the company and the broader manufacturing sector.
