NEW CASTLE, Pa. – Hoyt Arts Center is offering free admission to the historic Period House from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, giving visitors one of their final opportunities to experience the American Innovations Tour before it closes.

The American Innovations Tour explores the ideas, inventions and everyday advances that helped shape life in America through the setting of the Hoyt’s historic Period House. Visitors move room to room while discovering the ingenuity, changing technologies and innovations reflected in the home and its collections.

The free admission day also comes just days after the organization introduced its new identity as Hoyt Arts Center, making Thursday an opportunity for both longtime visitors and newcomers to explore what the Hoyt offers – and what’s coming next.

Visitors can learn about upcoming classes and workshops, exhibitions, holiday programs, special events and other opportunities at the Hoyt.

“Our new name, look and website are only the beginning,” said Executive Director Kimberly Koller-Jones. “We want people to come through the doors, explore the Period House and galleries, ask questions and find something they didn’t know the Hoyt offered. Sept. 17 is a great opportunity to see what’s here now and get a glimpse of what’s ahead.”

Free Period House admission will be available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Hoyt Arts Center members receive free Period House admission throughout the year.

Admission to the Hoyt’s galleries remains free at all times.
