SALEM, Ohio – Salem Regional Medical Center has named Dan Imhoff its fifth Daisy Award winner.
The national award was created by family members of patient J. Patrick Barnes to recognize outstanding nurses across the country who go above and beyond in providing compassionate care.
Imhoff, a longtime registered nurse, was recently nominated by an emergency department patient.
“Dan has been nominated for this award seven times since our program began a year ago,” said Leigh Knife, director of nursing at SRMC. “He is consistently recognized by his co-workers for his outstanding work ethic, compassionate demeanor and support for his patients during a very difficult time.”
Imhoff received a certificate and a $100 award given on behalf of the George Kimble Scholarship, established in 2012 in memory of past SRMC patient George H. Kimble.
“We launched the Daisy Award program to honor and recognize the excellent care that our nurses are practicing and highlight those who demonstrate our organization’s ICARE values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence,” Knife said.
