WARREN, Ohio – Inspiring Minds will host its 19th annual Fundraising Gala from 2-5 p.m. April 26 at its headquarters, 837 Woodland St. NE.

The gala is the nonprofit organization’s largest fundraiser and brings together more than 600 community members, organizations and businesses.

Each year, the event features unique cuisine that aims to expose guests to new tastes and experiences. This year’s menu is an international brunch highlighting staples from various cultures around the world.

Deryck Toles, founder and CEO of Inspiring Minds, said the organization believes it is incredibly important to teach young people about different cultures and traditions.

“It gives them the opportunity to see the world from different perspectives and teaches them how to connect with and understand different people,” Toles said.

The gala will also feature building tours, student achievement and participation, scholarship awards, community recognition, unique auctions and raffles, merchandise and more.

The theme of this year’s event is “Growth,” inspired by the organization’s 19 years of impact in the Mahoning Valley.

“We’re always looking forward to the future – what’s next for our students, the next programming opportunity, the next exposure trip, the next first-time experience,” Toles said. “For year 19, we also want to take the opportunity to look back at our growth and everyone who helped us along the way.”

Toles said growth happens every day at Inspiring Minds – from the academic, personal and professional growth of students to the expansion and directional growth of the organization.

“Over the last 19 years, our students, our organization and our community have grown in so many positive ways, and I love that our gala is an opportunity to celebrate that together,” Toles said.
