YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Inspiring Minds Youngstown will host its annual fundraiser, the Black & White Ball, from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center, 436 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Campbell.
This year’s theme is The Future Starts Here. The event will bring together hundreds of community members, families, organizations, businesses and supporters to celebrate the continued growth of Inspiring Minds Youngstown and look toward the future of the organization and the young people it serves, a news release states.
The event will feature a dinner buffet, student and community presentations, awards and recognition, auctions and raffles, merchandise and more.
Founded in 2015, Inspiring Minds Youngstown has served more than 1,000 students through year-round programming focused on education, college and career readiness, exposure to new experiences, health and wellness and personal development.
In 2025, the organization purchased its permanent home at 2110 South Ave. The Black & White Ball helps raise funds for building renovations that will create opportunities for local youth, families and the community, the release states.
“We want Inspiring Minds Youngstown to be a place where our scholars and their families know they can gather, connect and find opportunities,” said Tammye T. Hardin, Inspiring Minds Youngstown program coordinator. “As we look at what’s next, we are focused on becoming an even greater resource for our community and creating a space where our young people can continue to grow and thrive.”
