Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel visited Xaloy as part of the WorkOhio Job Connector Tour, highlighting the role advanced manufacturing continues to play in Ohio’s workforce and economy.

Tressel said the tour has provided an opportunity to see innovative work taking place across the state, pointing to Xaloy’s research and development efforts and global manufacturing reach as examples of the evolving opportunities available in Ohio industries.

He emphasized that manufacturing remains one of Ohio’s most important economic sectors, noting Ohio is among the nation’s leading manufacturing states and continues to receive support from organizations including JobsOhio and the Ohio Department of Development.

Tressel also stressed the importance of workforce development, saying modern manufacturing facilities offer advanced technology, strong work environments and career opportunities that differ significantly from outdated perceptions of factory work.

The WorkOhio initiative is designed to connect job seekers with training and employment opportunities throughout the state, helping individuals explore careers in industries ranging from advanced manufacturing to skilled trades.

Tressel said the Mahoning Valley continues to show strong potential for growth, citing the number of “homegrown” workers and businesses committed to strengthening the region’s future.
