Junior Achievement Accepting Registrations for Designer Bag Fundraiser
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley is accepting registrations for its annual Designer Bag Bingo fundraising event on Dec. 3.
The event runs from 5 to 9:30 p.m. and is held at the Metroplex at 1620 Motor Inn Drive in Girard. Hosted twice annually since 2018, the event has become one of the organization’s most popular fundraisers and has raised more than $95,000 since its inception.
Funds support Junior Achievement’s financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship programs, which are provided to schools and organizations at no cost by connecting young people with volunteer role models who guide them through relevant, hands-on learning experiences, says Michele Merkel, president of Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley.
“We equip them with skills needed to navigate success in an increasingly complex economy, like how to manage money, how to prepare for a career, and how to open and run a business,” Merkel says.
The price of admission at the event includes 15 rounds of bingo, dinner, dessert and a cash bar. The winner of each round receives a brand new, authentic, designer bag from brands like Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Coach. Participants must be 21 to attend. Additional bingo cards are available for purchase during the event.
Admission is $40 per ticket or $300 for a table of eight. VIP tickets and sponsorships are also available. Registration ends Nov. 26.
