The Leadership Mahoning Valley On Board! Board Training and Governance Academy is designed for both new and established board members and/or nonprofit leadership and will include content from Charitable University, a new learning platform developed by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, which provides tools on some of the most important elements in leading a charitable organization: board governance, governmental filings, financial operations and internal controls, filings and record keeping and fundraising.
Participants who complete the daylong training program will be included in the new Leadership Mahoning Valley BoardMatch program, which will connect individuals interested in serving on boards with nonprofit organizations in need of board members. Charitable leaders who complete the training will also receive completion credit for the program and have their names listed on the attorney general’s website as acknowledgement of their commitment to learning about their important roles as sector leaders. They will also receive a completion certificate that can be shared with funders to illustrate their organization’s commitment to sound board governance practices.
The day will begin with registration, a continental breakfast and networking at 8 a.m., followed by the program, which will run until 2 p.m. Lunch is included. Reservations are required, and the cost to attend is $60 per person. Groups of six can register at a reduced rate of $300 per group. Register HERE.
