YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Volume sales of new cars and trucks to customers living in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties improved in July compared with a year ago, according to the most recent data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers’ Association.

The association reported that 2,626 registrations for new vehicles sold to local buyers were recorded last month, compared with 2,567 during the same period last year, an increase of 2.3%.

Boardman Subaru reported the most sales with 163, while Fairway Ford, Canfield, reported 146 registrations. Greenwood Chevrolet, Austintown, sold 124 new vehicles; Toyota of Boardman reported 122 new sales; and #1 Cochran Chevrolet in Boardman said it sold 116 new units during the month.

Sales of used vehicles also ticked upward during the month, the association reported. In July, local customers purchased 2,232 used cars and trucks, compared with 2,177 purchased in July 2024, an improvement of 2.5%, data show.
