YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Mahoning County Prosecutor’s Office once again teamed up with several local schools to collect items to support the Sojourner House Domestic Violence Program.

Students from area schools including South Range, Western Reserve and Cardinal Mooney, along with members of the community, collected 1,907 items. 

Over the past four years, the annual domestic violence awareness donation drive has collected and donated more than 19,000 items to assist victims of domestic violence.

The following donations were presented to Sojourner House on Monday:

  • 469 Toothbrushes.
  • 365 pairs of socks.
  • 197 towels or towel-like items.
  • 193 tubes of toothpaste.
  • 159 sticks of deodorant.
  • 83 tupperware containers.
  • 69 bottles of shampoo, conditioner and oils.
  • 50 children’s clothing items.
  • 49 brushes or styling items.
  • 47 miscellaneous toiletries.
  • 40 body wash, shower and bath products.
  • 39 bottles of lotion.
  • 29 baby items.
  • 28 miscellaneous sleepwear and winter wear.
  • 26 beauty items.
  • 22 flosses.
  • 21 linens and sheets.
  • 9 packs of baby wipes.
  • 5 bottles of mouthwash.
  • 4 gift cards to Meijer ($100 total).
  • 3 packs of diapers.

Sojourner House accepts donations year-round. Needed items include gift cards to grocery stores, twin sheets with pillowcases, standard-size pillows, disposable diapers (all sizes), baby wipes, undershirts (all infant sizes), pull-ups, teething rings, bath towels and washcloths, socks of all sizes, personal hygiene products (all kinds), ethnic hair care products, sleepwear (especially plus sizes for women), paper products such as paper plates, toilet paper and tissues and cleaning supplies such as bleach, dish soap, laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaner and glass cleaner.
