YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Document images from the Mahoning County Recorder’s Office are available online, at no cost, through Laredo Anywhere.
The recorder’s office worked with its longtime technology vendor, Fidlar Technologies, to bring the new remote-access capability to the public.
Previously, searchers who wanted to view a recorded document needed to visit the recorder’s office in person and use one of the public-access computers. With this launch, constituents can search the property records recorded in the recorder’s office and view document images from any computer or mobile device with an internet connection.
“Giving the public direct online access to document images, not just our index, is a big step forward for our office,” said Richard S. Scarsella, county recorder. “The records we maintain are central to buying, selling and financing property in our community, and this update makes that information easier to access for title companies, attorneys and residents alike.”
Scarsella also announced that the Recorder’s Office Property Fraud Alert allows owners to list all properties – not just owner occupied property – unlike the Mahoning County Auditor Property Fraud Alert, which allows only one property to be listed.
Earlier in the year, Scarsella introduced a Notary Fraud Alert in an effort to minimize fraudulent property transactions.
