YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Megan Malara, executive director of the Youngstown Innovation Hub for Aerospace and Defense, returned to the Mahoning Valley to lead development of the state’s newest innovation hub, which is expected to break ground in late spring or early summer.
A Hubbard native, Malara was named to the role in October after a career spanning materials science research, additive manufacturing and federal policy work. Local partners cite her technical expertise and ties to the region as key factors in her selection, as the hub prepares to support defense-related manufacturing, workforce development and economic growth from its future home in the former Vindicator building downtown.
