BERLIN CENTER, Ohio – Mastropietro Winery is being offered for sale via a national online auction that will close on Aug. 27 at 3 p.m.

The winery at 14558 Ellsworth Road was opened in 2005 by siblings Dan and Cathy Mastropietro, who continue to own and operate it. After two decades, they are retiring.

“We’re proud of what we’ve built and ready to move on to our next chapter,” said Dan Mastropietro. “It’s been a fantastic journey, and we’re excited to see someone else take it from here, whether they want to continue the winery as-is or reimagine the space for something new.”

The property includes a turnkey winery and event venue situated on 14 unzoned acres in rural western Mahoning County.

The winery remains open for business and event bookings during the auction period. A large Tuscan-style building on the property houses a tasting room, a dining room and a sports bar, and a kitchen.

Outdoors, there is a spacious patio, a gazebo, a production building, a pavilion and a pond. The property also has three acres of grape vines that are used in making wine.

Dan Mastropietro shows off grapes he grew in the vineyard at Mastropietro Winery.

“This property presents a rare opportunity for investors, entrepreneurs, hospitality operators, and creative visionaries to acquire a fully operational, lifestyle-driven destination with substantial upside potential and room to grow,” reads a press release announcing the auction.

All furniture, fixtures, equipment and wine inventory needed for immediate operations are included in the sale.

The winery was inspired by the Mastropietro family’s tradition of winemaking that began with their father and grandfather.

“Over the past two decades, the Mastropietros have built a respected regional brand known for handcrafted wines, seasonal events, and memorable gatherings that have become part of the Mahoning Valley’s cultural fabric,” reads the press release.

The winery hosts several signature events each year, including Winds at the Winery, featuring several concert bands; and the annual Hot Air Balloon Festival, which will take placed Aug. 17; and the Summer Car Show on Aug. 24.

Weekly events include live music, DJ Trivia and seasonal tastings.
