AKRON, Ohio — New Jersey-based Materium Technologies has established operations in Cleveland as part of the Synthe6 Materials Accelerator at Bounce Innovation Hub, bringing its nano composite coatings technology to northeastern Ohio’s growing polymers sector.
Co-founded by Scott Daniel, the company develops coatings made from black copolymers and tunable nanoparticles, with applications ranging from moisture and oxygen barriers to electrical insulation and optical performance. Unlike traditional coating methods that require vacuum chambers and lengthy processing times, Materium’s self-assembling process operates at room temperature and can be completed in about 30 minutes.
