CANFIELD, Ohio – A Mahoning County Career & Technical Center student achieved a first in the school’s networking and cybersecurity program history.
Cooper Terziu has become the first student to earn both the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications.
Cooper passed the CompTIA Network+ certification exam with a score of 850 out of 900 (94%), exceeding the 720 passing score.
“Earning the CompTIA Network+ is impressive on its own, but achieving both the Network+ and A+ while still in high school is incredibly rare,” said Cooper’s instructor, Alex Benson. “These certifications place a student years ahead of the typical IT career pathway. It speaks volumes about his work ethic, his skill and his future potential in the industry.”
Cooper also is gaining real-world experience through MCCTC’s work-release program, where he works as a Level 1 Technician at Avrem Technologies LLC. The opportunity allows him to apply his technical training in a professional IT environment.
After graduation, Cooper plans to continue his education at Kent State University.
