CANFIELD, Ohio – Mahoning County Career & Technical Center will celebrate the opening of its new Leadership Employment Advancement Discovery Center with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. Wednesday on the MCCTC campus.
The more than 40,000-square-foot LEAD Center represents an expansion of MCCTC’s career-technical education opportunities and its continued commitment to preparing students for high-demand careers throughout the Mahoning Valley and beyond, a news release states.
The new facility will house programs in industrial robotics and automation; computer networking and cybersecurity; AI systems and software development; and HVAC.
The expansion provides students with access to modern learning environments, industry-aligned technology and hands-on training designed to meet the evolving workforce needs of local and regional employers.
The ribbon cutting will include remarks from MCCTC Superintendent John Zehentbauer, members of the MCCTC Board of Education and special guests. Attendees will have an opportunity to tour the new facility.
As part of the celebration, MCCTC will also dedicate the J. Paul Good Collaborative Space, named in recognition of Good’s extraordinary career in education and lifelong commitment to the students of the Mahoning Valley. Jeff Good, MCCTC board president and son of J. Paul Good, will provide remarks during the dedication.
“This facility represents much more than an expansion of our campus,” Zehentbauer said. “It represents an investment in our students, our local workforce and the future of the Mahoning Valley. The LEAD Center allows us to expand opportunities for students while responding directly to the needs of the industries and employers we serve.”
Following the ceremony, guests will be invited to tour the LEAD Center and learn about the programs and technology available to students.
