COLUMBUS, Ohio – State Reps. Lauren McNally of Youngstown and Monica Robb Blasdel of Columbiana have been selected as Ohio’s elected women leaders to receive the Elected Women of Excellence Award from the National Foundation for Women Legislators

The award recognizes women in public office who have worked tirelessly to serve their communities, champion important issues and break down barriers in government.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our Valley and I’m honored that others took notice of the work Rep. Robb Blasdel and I put into this job,” McNally, D-58th, said. “We have so many great women colleagues at the Statehouse, so to be chosen for this recognition is truly special.”

Established in 2013 as part of NFWL’s 75th Anniversary Celebration, the award honors women leaders from across the country for their dedication and impact. Each year, at most, one Republican and one Democrat from each state are selected for the honor. The Elected Women of Excellence Award celebrates leaders who have not only shaped policy but also paved the way for future generations of women in government.

“I am truly honored to be recognized alongside Rep. McNally with this prestigious award,” Robb Blasdel, R-79th, said. “I have immense gratitude for the effort Rep. McNally and the rest of our Mahoning Valley delegation has dedicated to strengthening our region, and I look forward to continuing this work into the future.”
