HOWLAND, Ohio – Renowned artist-sculptor Carole Feuerman has donated her monumental bronze sculpture “Justice” to the Medici Museum of Art.

The sculpture will be unveiled July 11 as part of ribbon-cutting ceremonies to mark the opening of a new exhibition at the museum, “Zodiac: Mysterious Power of the Creative,” which includes works by Feuerman and others.

The ceremony will take place from 5-8 p.m. and is free to the public.

The “Zodiac” exhibition, which quietly opened April 30 and runs through Jan. 11, is getting its world debut at the Medici. It was curated by Katelyn Amendolara-Russo, executive director of the museum.

The groundbreaking show explores the astrological, psychological and symbolic dimensions of creativity through contemporary art, according to a press release.

In addition to Feuerman, the “Zodiac” exhibition includes works by 41 other artists from multiple countries, including Donna Dodson, Pilar Zeta, Barbara Ségal, Abby Modell, Evelyne Brader-Frank, Dan Morgan, Adetomiwa A. Gbadebo, Maria Pavlovska and Nadine A. Ghaffar.

It brings together emerging and established artists who interpret the mystical power of the zodiac in bold and unexpected ways – through sculpture, painting and multimedia. Rather than focusing on specific zodiac signs, the selected works reflect a broader engagement with celestial forces and spiritual intuition.

Amendolara Russo said the exhibition marks another “powerful” step in expanding the Medici’s international footprint.

“This collaboration with the Feuerman Sculpture Foundation brings together visionary artists from around the globe, unified by creative intuition,” she said. “It’s a privilege to position the Medici as a platform where global artistic voices converge in the heart of Ohio.”

The Medici has exhibited Feuerman’s hyperrealistic sculptures in the past. The “Zodiac” exhibition cements the ongoing partnership between the museum and the Feuerman Sculpture Foundation, according to Amendolara-Russo.

The donation of the “Justice” sculpture is part of a  $1.5 million contribution from the artist to launch a public sculpture garden on the museum’s front lawn at 9350 E. Market St. Works by major international artists will be permanently displayed on the lawn, Amendolara-Russo said.

The Feuerman Sculpture Foundation is dedicated to preserving and advancing the legacy of hyperrealist art through exhibitions, education and collaborative initiatives.

“Working alongside Katelyn Russo and the Medici Museum of Art has been an inspiring experience,”  Feuerman said. “Katelyn’s visionary leadership and commitment to curatorial excellence make the Medici a dynamic force in Ohio’s cultural landscape. Together, we’re creating space for artists to explore deeper meaning, and I’m proud to present the foundation’s inaugural exhibition in such a forward-thinking and community-rooted institution.”
