YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is among four beneficiaries of a $200,000 donation to the 2026 Harvest for Hunger Campaign by Meijer.
Harvest for Hunger is an annual springtime campaign designed to assist four local food banks across 21 counties in the fight against hunger. This is the third year the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retail and grocery chain has supported the Harvest for Hunger campaign.
The campaign is coordinated by the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio. Funds raised through the campaign help these food banks and their network of partner agencies provide meals and groceries to individuals and families facing food insecurity.
“For more than 90 years, Meijer has been dedicated to fighting hunger and supporting families in the communities we serve,” Vik Srinivasan, chief administration officer at Meijer, said. “This commitment is reflected in our support of the Harvest for Hunger campaign, ensuring individuals and families in Northeast Ohio have reliable access to nutritious meals now and in the future.”
The donation by Meijer will support the four coordinating food banks and their partner agencies serving Northeast Ohio communities throughout the campaign period.
