HARRISBURG, Pa. – Mercer County will receive more than $2.8 million in state funding for transportation, water and sewer infrastructure improvements.
State Sen. Michele Brooks, R-50th, and state Rep. Parke Wentling, R-7th, announced the funding in a news release Tuesday.
“These investments will help keep Mercer County moving forward by improving roads, bridges, pedestrian safety and essential water and sewer systems,” Brooks said. “Strong infrastructure supports economic growth, public safety and quality of life for families across our region.”
Wentling agreed.
“These projects will improve transportation and upgrade essential water and sewer infrastructure across the 7th Legislative District,” he said.
Projects receiving funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund include:
- Hermitage, Linden Pointe roadway expansion project, $500,000.
- Jamestown, pedestrian safety and sidewalk improvements, $232,158.
- Mercer County, Hosack Road structurally deficient bridge replacement, $650,000.
- Sharon, TruckSmart Sharon freight and roadway improvements, $350,000.
- Sharon, traffic signage installation and signal improvement and North Dock Street widening, $350,000.
Projects receiving funding through the CFA’s PA Small Water and Sewer Program include:
- Hermitage Municipal Authority, Dermond Road water extension, $250,000.
- Sharon City Sanitary Authority, sewer line relocation bridge, $100,000.
- Sharon, catch basin rehabilitation, $100,000.
- Shenango Township Municipal Authority, pump station improvements, $250,000.
- Springfield Township, sanitary sewer system improvements, $300,000.
- Jamestown Municipal Authority, water treatment plant renovations, $100,000.
The CFA is an independent agency of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development that administers Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.
