SHARON, Pa. – Mercer County Food Bank is seeking support from the public to secure much-needed funds.

The food bank has been named a finalist for a $10,000 GBU Foundation community grant. Community members nominated organizations, and a selection committee evaluated the nominees based on their mission and contributions to their local communities.

After advancing past the judging round, the finalists are now entering the voting phase. Public voting will take place HERE from Friday through 11:59 p.m. Feb. 28.

“Being selected as a finalist for the GBU Foundation community grant is an incredible honor,” said Rebecca Page, executive director of Mercer County Food Bank. “If awarded, these funds would allow us to expand our food distribution programs and reach even more neighbors facing food insecurity, while also raising awareness about hunger in our community.”

Now in its third year, the GBU Foundation Community Grant Awards program is dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations that make a meaningful impact on their communities.

The program was designed to provide funding for 501(c)(3) organizations that contribute to their communities in alignment with GBU’s four Community Pillars: Wellness, Education, Charitable Giving and Hometown Hero Support.
