SHARON, Pa. – Mercer County Food Bank is inviting the community to help Stuff the Truck to assist in providing food to those in need in Mercer County.

The food bank’s truck will be parked at D’Onofrio’s Food Center, 1749 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to accept nonperishable food items (no glass packaging).

The most needed food items include canned proteins, vegetables, fruits, peanut butter, cereal, pasta and sauce.

“The food bank is grateful to be welcomed back to D’Onofrio’s Food Center to host Stuff the Truck once again,” said Rebecca Page, executive director of the Mercer County Food Bank. “All donations collected are used to combat food insecurity within Mercer County.”

According to the food bank, 15,410 people, including 4,390 children, are considered food insecure in Mercer County.
