SHARON, Pa. – Mercer County Food Bank is inviting the community to help fight hunger during the Fill Carts, Fill Hearts food drive at several grocery stores throughout Mercer County.
The drive will kick off Friday in recognition of Good Samaritan’s Day and continue through the weekend. Shoppers are encouraged to purchase a few extra items during their trip and donate them at the following collection sites:
- D’Onofrio’s Food Center, Hermitage.
- Giant Eagle, Hermitage.
- County Market, Grove City.
- Walmart, Grove City, Greenville and Hermitage.
The most-needed items include canned vegetables, soups, tuna, peanut butter and jelly, pasta, rice, cereal and canned fruit. Nonfood items such as detergent, toothpaste, toilet paper, diapers, soap and shampoo will also be accepted.
Community members can also donate financially by scanning the QR code available at the collection sites.
