GROVE CITY, Pa. – Mercer County Food Bank is inviting the community to help Stuff the Truck to help feed those in need in the county.
The food bank’s truck will be parked at County Market, 49 Pine Grove Square, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The food bank will accept all nonperishable food items (no glass packaging) during the event. The most needed food items include canned proteins, vegetables, fruits, peanut butter, cereal and pasta.
“The food bank is thrilled to be able to expand the Stuff the Truck event to the Grove City area,” said Rebecca Page, executive director of Mercer County Food Bank. “All donations collected are used to combat food insecurity within Mercer County.”
According to a release from the food bank, 15,970 people in Mercer County, including 4,600 children, are considered food insecure, meaning they don’t always know where their next meal will come from.
