SHARON, Pa. – Mercer County Food Bank on Monday announced new locations for its Mobile Pantry food distribution program for 2025.

The new locations are:

  • Sandy Lake Presbyterian: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.
  • St. John’s Lutheran Church, Greenville: 11a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.
  • Reynolds Drive-In Theater, Reynolds: noon to 2 p.m. on the third Friday of each month.

The food bank implemented the Mobile Pantry program in 2021 to provide additional access to nutritious food to income eligible residents in rural and underserved areas of Mercer County, a news release states. The program is a drive-thru-style food distribution and provides people with shelf-stable foods, protein, bread, dairy and produce when available.

“The initial goal of the Mobile Pantry program was to provide additional access to nutritious food to low-income neighbors who live in food desserts and rural and underserved areas, with the hope that those communities would come together to form actual food pantries and/or feeding sites to serve neighbors struggling to put food on the table,” said Rebecca Page, executive director of the Mercer County Food Bank. “In 2023, we saw incredible success in the program’s current locations, as communities now have food pantries through local churches to help meet the need, which prompted our staff to mobilize the program to other areas of need throughout the county.”

Through a network of more than 50 member agencies and direct distribution programs like the Mobile Pantry, the food bank is providing food to more than 12,000 food insecure residents each month and hopes to continue to close the meal gap throughout the county.
