HERMITAGE, Pa. – The Mercer County Builders Association’s annual Home Show will include a community food drive to benefit Mercer County Food Bank.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Hickory VFW and Normandy Banquet Center, 5550 E. State St., and will feature homebuilding and renovation vendors and family-friendly activities.
Admission to the event is free, and attendees and vendors are encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations.
“Community partnerships are essential to ensuring no one in Mercer County goes hungry,” said Rebecca Page, executive director of Mercer County Food Bank. “Events like this help provide much-needed food to the more than 14,000 residents we serve each month.”
In addition to connecting homeowners with local builders, contractors and home improvement professionals, the expanded event will feature several new attractions designed for the entire family. Event highlights include:
- Touch-a-Truck Experience: Families and children will have the opportunity to explore construction vehicles and equipment up close.
- MCBA Dream House Challenge: A fun contest will allow aspiring young builders to showcase their creativity and imagination.
- Homebuilding and renovation vendors: Local experts will offer ideas, products and services for home projects.
“This year we wanted to reimagine the Home Show as more than just a trade event,” said Jim McLusky, president of the Mercer County Builders Association. “Our board of directors is committed to making a tangible difference in the community while still highlighting the incredible work being done in the building and renovation industry.”
