Locks of Love

Three nurses at the Mercy Health – St. Joseph Cancer Center recently donated their hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit that provides free wigs to children experiencing hair loss.

Adrianna Francis, Olivia Beechy and Brooke Butto each had been growing their hair without a specific plan before deciding to make the donation. Butto, who had donated her hair before, helped guide the group through the process, including meeting the organization’s length requirements.

The nurses selected Locks of Love because the organization offers wigs at no cost to recipients.

Liz McMenamin, a cancer center secretary and experienced hair stylist, cut their hair. McMenamin has more than 20 years of experience styling hair and said she was excited to be part of the effort.
