WARREN, Ohio – A television movie production turned northeastern Ohio’s End of the Commons General Store into a film set, using the historic Mesopotamia landmark and other nearby locations as the backdrop for a romantic comedy.

Plus, Kroger Co. has agreed to acquire Giant Eagle Inc. in a $1.65 billion deal that would expand the grocery retailer’s footprint across northern Ohio, western Pennsylvania and several neighboring states.

And the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra will use a click track to synchronize its July 5 performance with a fireworks display during the city’s free America 250 celebration at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre.
